NN Core for Recording, Decoding and Computational Neuroscience (Core A). Dr. Jones’s background is in mathematics, computational neural modeling and human MEG/EEG imaging. Integrating these disciplines, she has developed a unique computational model of neocortical circuitry and applies this model to interpret the cellular and network level origin of human MEG/EEG signals and their meaning for behavior. With funding from an NIH BRAIN Initiative Award (NIBIB: RO1 EB022889) her team is turning this modeling into a general use software tool for others to develop hypotheses on the neural origin of their human imaging data. A focus of her research is on the mechanisms and functions of low frequency brain rhythms in human perception and attention, along with their modulation with learning and meditative practice. Dr. Jones received a BA and MA from Boston College and a doctorate in Mathematics, with a concentration in Dynamical Systems Theory, from Boston University.
