Dr. Mor has 30+ years experience as a Principal Investigator in health service in long term services and supports. He received the Academy of Health's Distinguished Investigator Award in 2011. He is the Principal Investigator of Brown University's National Institute on Aging (NIA) program project, "Shaping Long-Term Care in America", a multi-year program project exploring how state policies and market forces affect the services provided in US nursing homes and the quality of care recieved by their elderly residents. Dr. Mor is the Director of the Long-Term Care-CREATE (Collaborative Research to Enhance and Advance Transformation and Excellence) at the Providence VA Medical Center. The LTC CREATE consists of projects that reflect Geriatric Extended Care's leadership's commitment to the transformation of the VHA long-term-care system from one that is institutionally-based to one that is Veteran-centered and community based. Each project focuses on this transformation from improving care within the community living centers, to realigning the discharge process, to examining the role of alternative community service programs.
