Dr. Blackman is a psychiatry resident in Brown University's Psychiatry Residency Program. She completed the Medical Scientist Training Program (MD/PhD) at the University of Minnesota, earning a PhD in Neuroscience in 2013 and MD in 2015. Her PhD research focused on investigating the cellular basis for cognitive dysfunction in schizophrenia using an N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) antagonist pharmacological model for the disease in non-human primates. She is part of the research track and working with Dr. David Badre as well as Dr. Noah Philip to develop a project using magnetic resonance imaging that examines cognitive dysfunction in schizophrenia patients.
