Ms. Long graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a B.A. in Psychology in 2017. Her research background includes studies on inner peace and mindfulness among college students and older adults at the URI Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies. For her Senior Honors Project, Nikki conducted an independent research study on college students’ journeys through a 6-week mindfulness program. Her research interests include mindfulness, mental and physical health, stress, and anxiety. Current research she is working on at the PVAMC, Brown University, and Butler Hospital includes the use of transcranial direct current stimulation and reversal learning to develop a potential new treatment for anxiety disorders, such as PTSD.
