Intro – Rashona Spruill – PVAMC African American Special Emphasis Program Manager (5 Minutes)
Chaplain Rotunda East – PVAMC (15 minutes)
Chaplain East will discuss Martin Luther King’s leadership and legacy, and the methods he used to inspired our nation. She will emphasize the theme of transcendence, and how Dr. Kings dream and actions pushed against the norms and moved his ideals forward. Chaplain East will also relate this theme and other aspects of leadership to her career and military experience:
  • Positive leadership style
  • Great communicator
  • Visionary thinker
Anthony Gore and Kendall Taylor - PVAMC (10 Minutes)
Mr. Gore and Mr. Taylor will performing Martin Luther King live readings, accompanied by bass guitar.
RI Black Story Tellers (25 Minutes)
Rhode Island Black Storytellers (RIBS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the awareness, appreciation, and application of Black Storytelling in Rhode Island through performance, as well as through educational and cultural experiences. Throughout the year, the organization offers workshops in storytelling, writing and related arts as a part of the development of the next generation of storytellers, along with professional development workshops for those interested in enhancing cultural awareness, and improving their performances and communication skills.
