VA Providence Healthcare System
• All Veterans and guests will continue to be screened at the main entrance and other specific locations at VAPHS properties. If a Veteran or guest does not have a mask one will be provided to them.
• Inpatient visitors are allowed on the floor, however, visitation is still limited and appointments must be coordinated with the unit. Veterans who require care in our facilities may not bring children under the age of 18 into any of our facilities.
• Patient and visitor screening will occur in the Emergency Room from 8pm to 6am on weeknights and for all 48 hours during the weekend. The main entrance will continue to be closed during these hours and re-open at 6am Monday mornings.

The VA Providence Healthcare System serves Veterans throughout Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts. In additiion to our main medical center in Providence, we offer a number of services to our patients through three VA community outpatients clinics: Middletown R.I., New Bedford Mass., and Hyannis Mass.
For your convenience and safety, we have special waiting areas throughout the facility. Please do not gather in the hallways or at the nurses's stations. We have both employees and volunteers available at the Ambulatory Care entrance for patient transport for those Veterans needing a wheelchair or other assistance getting to and from their appointments.
VAMC Providence has a Police Service. Our officers provide 24-hour patrols of the facility and parking lots. For general police assistance, please dial 401-273-7100, ext. 13008. In case of an emergency dial 911, or when on campus you can dial ext. 4999 from any medcial center phone. Report all suspicious or criminal activity, vehicle accidents, and personal property losses to the VA Police while on the facility grounds as soon as possible. Because the VA Medical Center is federal property, all persons and bags are subject to search. In addition, no weapons, alcohol or illegal drugs are permitted.
A nondenominational chapel is located on the third floor of the hospital. Services are offered on a regular basis. Please contact the Chaplain Service at 401-273-7100, ext. 13000 for additional information or to speak with one of our chaplains.
