The Providence VA Medical Center's Homeless Patient-Aligned Care Team clinic hosted Operation Stand Down Rhode Island’s winter clothing give away Oct. 28 in the medical center's trailer 37 parking lot. Operation Keep 'em Warm III, was a great success, thanks to the efforts of Brian Sullivan of OSDRI, H-PACT’s Jeffrey Figueira, and everyone who assisted in coordination of the clothing drive. staff and volunteers looking through tables and racks of cloths

Volunterrs and staff were able to supply winter clothing to more than 126 Veterans and their families. Assistance with sorting ,sizing and distribution of clothing came from this year’s nurses in VA’s Nurse Residence Program and volunteers from Citizens Bank. Each participant received lightly used, and some new, hats, coats, blankets and other items of clothing along with lunch provided by OSDRI.

This event was made possible by the continuation of teamwork between OSD I, the HPACT clinic and VA’s Nurse Residence Program. Due to the success of the event over the past three years, organizers are already planning next year’s winter coat giveaway.
