Employees at the Providence VA Medical Center no longer have to go out to a local gym for a workout.  Recently, the Medical Center opened an Employee Wellness Gym in an area within the Physical Therapy Department.  This setting allows the employees to feel comfortable in a wellness setting without work-related distractions.

The Employee Wellness Gym will greatly benefit employees of the Medical Center.  Studies show that regular exercise helps decrease stress, improve vitals (decreased heart rate and blood pressure), increase sense of well-being, promote weight loss, and increase energy levels among many other benefits.

The Gym is just one way that the Medical Center is giving back to its employees, offering them a program that greatly enhances total wellness.
